First Hair Cut & Yarn Fairy's in my Garden

We are over a few hurdles, ya'll need an update. We had that first puppy cut… he was so good!  DH wanted to get him groomed professionally.  Vet would only do face and tail for $35, groomers want $40+ depending on temperament and all that.  Can you imagine!  That’s just hair and nails, not teeth!  Good ole days of "shave and a hair cut, 2 bits" are gone forever.  So three of us were in attendance last night and he's adorastinkingble!!! Still needs a face cut as it was last and he was freaked out.
Why are you taking my hair away Mommy!
Daddy my hairs falling out... all of it!  WAAAA
Pixie, why are you aiding them in this monstrous affair?
You can still see the scraggly ear condition but I just couldn't do any more.  I had this thought continuously running. If the vet only takes face and tail... why am I still cutting?  It wasn't the absolute, very first cut as we did have some matting issues with him when he first came.  He was having problems at home with Mum and Pop, seems he was challenging for Alpha.  Here he just slid into place.  There's one cat who still challenges him but he's won the other two over. Every night I do some things in the same way to give him routine, one is brushing him out.  He doesn't like it but he will come around.  I have been training him daily and he's really smart.  Still has a few accidents inside the house but for the most part I hope that as he becomes more obedient, more comfortable in his own skin, it will all fall into place.  After all, he see's all of our skin change twice daily so of course he's got issues. Tee hee hee.  It's been several weeks now and overall I think he's doing well.
Most of us call him Baby as he really tucks into you when you pick him up.  I think he's stuck with that for life. I told DH he could call him whatever he likes so long as he doesn't call him, "late for dinner". Since then he's got two names as Lil Bit is DH's name for him. BUT he responds best to a clicking noise made with the mouth so it really doesn't matter one way or the other.
Baby is amazingly agile!  He will climb me and then jump off my shoulder. WEEEeee Mommy, look at me!  LOL Before you all freak out, I'm bed/house bound so it's from a seated, not standing, position. That said he will jump from me straight off of the bed, he doesn't need the ramp we have at the end of the bed, he just flies onto it.  Every object has been scaled... he even flies off of the couch back!  Yep, agile lil thing that he is, he loves to jump.  I really want to train him through obstacles.  He's such a fast learner!  I was thinking about just tossing out some fun stuff onto the floor and then crawling around on the floor teaching him over, under, through, up, FUN!
We have been working here non-stop for the entire month getting caught up after the surgery's from March.  Needless to say, I'm fried.  I'm going to take either just a long weekend or an even extended one through next week.  For sure we aren't dyeing as all that remains is Athena and the yarns going on order here next week.  It's coming from outside the US so it's going to take some time.
That said we do have another KAL opening, late Thursday night Pacific time I will open Yarn Fairy's in my Garden by Donna Druchunas. So if you want to stay up late and be the first to order feel free to stay up with me.  That said I believe that Europe might be the first to see it.  I can't wait to share all the goodies I found with you.  I love them all and think you will too.  BUT the yarn! The colors, amazing! Just you wait and see.  ENJOY!

Chatty Patty Here

Well Kiddies, when I am the only person replying to my own posts I know it's Chatty Patty time and time to spill the beans in a post.
First I must share with you that Pixie #1 has really stepped up her game.  She's reading her Bible and really getting into it.  So much so that it's flowing over into her life.  The house is clean, there's food all the time and best of all, she's got a smile on her face.
One of those secret smiles that just tugs slightly at the corner of your mouth.  The type you want to grab for your own and kiss again and again.  Sorry baby, it's true.
SEE! it's 4pm and I haven't eaten today. Me beloved Pixie just brought me fish and chips!  she know's I've had a hankering for them for a week or more.  LOVE my baby girl.
Downloaded the Kindle Ap for my laptop and found a free book on dog training. Read it in 1 hour and only learned ONE thing from it, there are no dumb dogs!  That was new to me as I thought some dogs were just bred at little stupider. Turns out there
are only dumb owners the ones who don't train.
Baby, and yes, his name is Baby! because he hugs me and snuggles in like a baby.  When he really relaxes he will turn over onto his back and ask for a tummy rub and a puppy massage.  See he's a jumper and those wee little legs (read chicken wings) must be massaged regularly.
This is a tiny Yorkie we are talking, purebred, so you know he's the real thing! All 6 pounds of himself, can jump from off of the back of the couch, what's that? 3.5 foot?  HIGH for such a small wee guy. This sweet heart of a pup (7 months now) snuggles us all night and we both love it.  Last night he was up against DH went I fell asleep and DH found him in his elbow crook when he woke.  That's some pup!
After I found out that all dogs can be trained (we've been potty training since day one) I started with the tricks and treats.  I have a tiny treat that I can easily cut into 4 miniature treats.  With these treats I have taught him to sit in ONE DAY!  I'm so proud of my Baby!  Today I taught him to run up and down the ramp and he had to sit at the top and bottom.

When he's solo (no distractions from the rest of the menagerie) he did really well.  Prior to training he flew at the ramp and bed in TWO bounds!  He still does, he's amazingly agile.  Reminds me of the cats.  Course not in the state they are in in these photos!  LOL
What Yarn Fairy post would be a YF post without some kind of knitting and yarn!  I finished the 1300 club sample just before my fastest TKer did.  PHEW! LOVE IT! Can't wait to block it out.
Now we have yaaaaaaaaaaaaarn! YUM  This is our Bun, it's 20% angora and so it's gotta go into the kettle.  Add that to the fact that I used reactive fiber dyes and WOWSERS.  Too bad I can't replicate this, no notes.  The one on the top has green and turquoise and what must surely be black but I don't remember adding black to it?  Could have used a kettle that already had black in it?  Dunno.
This one I do know.  Purple went into the pot and then red on one side of the kettle and brown on the other.  You can see the red but there's a blob of brown on it too.  Love them both but they flew away to their homes.  If you aren't afraid of going bongo with me... ask me to play.  Tell me your three favorite colors and lets pot them!  ALSO angora's got a bad wrap... mines lovely!  This is the perfect blend for socks or a shawl.  Doesn't migrate and doesn't shed.  LOVE IT!
Then there's my hand spun, gorgeous and to dye for.  This is 100% merino, can't remember who dyed it or where I got it but I'm in love.  If you are in love too, I will part with it... just know it's not cheap, this one is 900 yards spun then plied.  I normally base the price on the yardage at $10 per yard but I think that's overpriced don't you?
This lovely, is Siren, the 1st Quarter YF, last month, Club sock yarn. LOVE this yarn!  I wish I'd made an extra of it but on this one I did take notes as we have to come up with an entirely new line of 15 colors this year.  So we have been playing a LOT.  This week I'm going to paint all the colors on the skein really saturated, then I'm going to pop the skein into a black pot and see how it comes out.  I think it might be swell for a lace shawl!
The procedure is still working.  Cut back on my meds and what with getting my marbles and a box of brains in the mail (Zombie proofed box of course)... I have been doing really well.  Math is coming to me like it's always been there, just waiting.  When the doctor messed with my meds I thought my brains were gone for good. Now I have so many patterns that are ready to be published that it feels like all I do is edit patterns and make stitch markers.  AND clutter bracelets! LOVING them jingly, tinkly clutter bracelets!  I'm about to make one for Yarn Fairy's in my Garden by Donna Dru!  That and so much more will be revealed come May Day.  I can't wait to share what we've been working on with you!  We should have a contest.
Now I want to go talk with Donna!  LOL.  What do you mean I'm easily distracted, blink blink shiny, bye bye for now.  Have to go follow that shiny trail before it zings out of sight.

Newbie to the menagerie

I would like to introduce you to the latest edition of our critters.  My heart was deficient and now it's overflowing, full of gratefulness and thanks. I'd stopped looking for a pup as I must have sent out 16+ e-mails and not one returned my letters.  Kev on the other hand, did not stop.  He told me he'd find me a dog and he's as good as his word! He came in here last night with the photo and had the owner on chat and asked me what questions did I want to ask?  I replied, "When can we come get him!"  That was it, end of story.
I'm not sure what his name is but he's a pure bred Chocolate Yorkie, isn't he adorable!  He's 7 months old and 2 days, we have a birth date for a change!  He weighs right around 6 pounds and he's perfect.
He's very much the puppy and has tried to make friends with everyone here.  He's very interested in what our other dog was doing in this photo, he was just sitting there BTW.  Our other terrier is very possessive so we had him muzzled for a bit over the first 12 hours.  Whenever there was even a thought of dispute, food, bones, toys, anything like that I didn't want to take any chances as he was growling.  Most of the growling has stopped, as has the muzzling since Baby(?) just wants to play.  He's gone into "play bow" with Mr. Angry Pants and has almost gotten him to play.  Almost.  I'm confident that they will be the best of buds in no time.

The cats are another story, they don't know what to make of him.  My lil gray (our first cat) was in here for the play bow and just looked like, "What are you! and why are you in my house? Why are you on my bed! Of all the nerve!" then walked away, tail swishing.  The B & W cat (lil's son) can't be found to say hello to, he's shy, I'm not surprised.
Of course, Baby had to have his first bath which was very traumatic.  Speaking of trauma, he's very scared still and shakes over every new challenge.  I hope that stops and we don't have a scardey dog on our hands.
One thing he does that I have got to tell you about. We haven't seen this in any of our dogs in a good many years.  He tries to "bury" his bones and food in our duvet!  Cutest thing you ever seen!  He just sort of digs, then covers with this nose.  We then take it away when he's not looking (busy getting more "dirt") and he seems to think he's done a good job.  HAHA so adorastinkingble!
For now, both he and Poppa are having their Sunday afternoon nap. It's been a rough 18 hours, and my boys are exhausted. Dad, for having driven as soon as he showed me the photo from Craig's List. He'd just returned from a shopping run!  Poor Poppa, he drove a good 500+ miles over the last 24 hours, what with sunrise service and getting up at 5 am.  This is a well deserved nap.
Baby's Toys-2 ropes are soaking
I couldn't be happier with our new addition.  He's got a vet appointment in a few weeks and I hope we figure out his name by then.  For now he's just Baby to me.  He holds me as a 9 month old baby does when they are pressed, wrapped around and hanging on to you for all their might.   Hung unto me for the entire 1.5 hour ride home, almost hugging me. Sweet Baby Face, Choco Pup, I am in love already, I cried when I first held him.  Are you surprised?  I'm not.  I will never forget my old dog and Baby can't replace him but life moves on.  Again, thank you all for your remembrances, cards, stitch markers and WOW DS, thank you so much for my care package from TX!
This lovely friend of mine sent me these goodies, this is the care package.  The floral print in the background is for nuking things and having them be a lovely as they had been baked.  Instructions for breads and all kinds of things but the item I'm the most excited about is the baked potato, I want to try that asap.  The denim pot holder matches the lovely wildflower print.  The "teacup", ya'll know I love them and my tea by now, is so large cause everything's bigger in TX!  I can use it for the hot cocoa and broth that feels weird coming out of a teacup.  The book mark is going to come in handy for the box of books I just bought.  Then there's the black bag at the bottom... she found mee marbles! They were at Gruene's General Store. Between this friend, the Doc and the other who shipped my brains back in a zombie proof box, ya'll are likely to be deluged in everything YF here soon.  So happy to be gathering up my brain cells again. YIPEE SKIPPEY!  I'M BACK! and I feel more whole now.  Not just from my brains but my wee boy is at home.
